Bullying is the process of intimidating, insulting or mistreating somebody weaker. Threatening, fighting, frightening, backbiting, physical or verbal attacking, provoking, spreading unnecessary rumors etc are called bulling. Isolating somebody from the group, being arrogant, showing egotism and making fun of others are also bullying. Such activities are generally more in the childhood and gradually develop in the coming stages. Researchers estimate that 20 to 30 percent of school age children are involved in bullying incidents, as either perpetrators or victims.

Bullying causes the beginning of disputes, creation of violence, self destruction, development of the feeling of revenge and depression. It brings and environment of destruct in the personal and social relation. It weakens the fundamental characters like respect, honour and co-existence. Bullying behavior is prevalent throughout the world. Victims of bullying are often shy and tend to be physically weaker than their peers. They may also have self esteem and poor social skills, which makes it hard for them to stand up themselves. Bullies are affected too, even into adulthood; they may have difficulty forming positive relationships. They are more apt to use tobacco and alcohol, and to be abusive spouses. Furthermore, it causes problems in the process of socialization. Those children who are victims of teasing and bulling shows the signs of crying a lot, unexplained bruises, sudden drop in grades or other learning problems, not wanting to go to school, significant changes in social life etc. As it is said that ‘Every problem has its own solution”, for preventing the bullying, good works should be encouraged and bad works should be discouraged in family and school. Adults need to intervene to help children resolve bullying issues. They should help the children to develop the habits of treating all equally and showing sympathy to all friends. Not only home but also in school, the activities of bullying should be discouraged. Especially, awareness regarding bullying behavior should be done. Those who bully others should be punished strictly. Schools and parents can work effectively behind the scenes to help a child meet and make new friends via study groups or science lab partnerships.

In 21st century, the word is full of selfish creatures. They cannot see progress of other people and are supposed to tease, intimidate and insult others. For this, we should have moral and value education. Also, the bullying behavior should be discouraged as not only the victims but also the bullies themselves are facing the problems. At last, I would conclude saying that “Better to be alone rather than a bad company.”
