Once upon a time, in the Abbasid Empire, there was an orphan living amidst the hustle & bustle in the kingdom's capital. He grew up in a tough environment. In the neighborhood, he was known for his courage, wisdom and his kindness even when was poor.
After some years, when he was 16, there was a medieval jousting tournament. In there, many nobles & warriors were present. He was paired with a noble, who was the crown prince of the empire, whose name was Mehmed. The orphan's name was disclosed as Khosrow. In the tournament, Khosrow performed superbly. He won that match as well as the tournament. Emperor Mehmed the I who saw his talent, recruited him into the emperor's guard.
After some peaceful ten years, Mehmed the First died peacefully. After that, his son was coronated as the emperor of the Abbasid empire, Mehamed the II. The new emperor even though he was strong administrator, he was a weak in diplomacy. The neighboring kingdom, the Sultanate of Rum, whose ruler was Sultan Muhammad, who was power-hungry & was not contempt hatched a plan to attach the Abbasid Empire.
Khosrow, who had now become the chief of the army & the imperial guard, was summoned to the emperor's court and was informed of the situation. Khosrow immediately, led a force of 20000 men to face the attackers. He consulted with the experienced soldiers in the army. Furthermore, his spies & scouts reported 40000 men were attacking. Even, though he was heavily outnumbered, he became calm & used his wisdom & chose a landscape that favored him. Muhammad had also got wind that 20000 were fencing him. He became confident, underestimated his enemy & marched into a trap. In the narrow gorge, the battle of Antioch took place where Muhammad wasn't able to use his force to its full potential. Khosrow, fought with bravery & remained victorious. The Sultan was slain in the battle & his force was utterly destroyed.
After the war, the Sultanate of Rum, didn't have a sultan & neither an heir. So, the people asked to the emperor to provide Khosrow as the new Sultan. The emperor supported this idea & Khosrow was proclaimed as the Sultan. Khosrow, ruled the Sultanate with wisdom, wit & kindness to his subject. The two kingdoms always remained allies & lived peacefully for generations to come.
Moral of the story: Be calm & wise in stressful situation. Use your wit to your advantage.
